Fall is here but winter is around the corner! If you have a move coming up during the winter season, here are some tips to get through your move so you are more prepared and have a stress-free experience!
Be Ready- As we all know New England weather is ever changing so be prepared to face changing weather conditions. It might say it will not snow on the forecast but be ready for it anyways. It’s always better to be over prepared than being stuck in the cold winter with no resources. Make sure to pour salt around your home and near your moving truck if there is ice on the ground so it can prevent falls and slips!
Be Careful- When packing, try not to pack up all your winter gear with your summer clothes. Packing can get hectic so having your personal belongings organized before the move to your new place will put less stress on you when unpacking everything. It’s also best to use plastic containers during the winter instead of cardboard boxes to avoid water damage from snow or rain and prevent damages to your things.
Prepare Your New Home- Since it will be winter during your move, make sure your utilities are running at your new home. Keep rags, tarps or old rugs on the floor to protect them during your moving and to keep slush and snow minimal inside your new place.
