Create realistic goals when moving and packing
Set your goals, but also take time away from the chaos by stepping away and focus your attention on other thing you enjoy. This will be much-needed for you to re-energize mentally and decrease stress. Investing all day, everyday into your move is not going to be good in the longrun.
Start with the bathroom
Having the essentials out and ready for use can make things easier. That way, you aren’t scrambling to find your toothbrush later that day. After the bathrooms, move onto the bedrooms.
Make sure your movers and helpers are happy
Try giving the movers and friends that are helping to move your belongings some water and snacks as well as taking a short break every few hours to make sure no one is getting too tired. When the time is right, take the lead to restart the packing and moving because time time flies while getting all of this done!
Lead by example
If you start feeling stressed, irritated, and tired, your friends or family members will pick up on that and use that as an excuse to have the same attitude. Try to stay calm and take each room to pack step-by-step.
Get a good night’s sleep
Make sure to get in an early bedtime the night before moving and unpacking. It won’t feel good to be dragging along during the day while wishing you got more rest. Your body will thank you!
